This year, Cancer Research UK celebrated its 15th anniversary of the Flame of Hope Awards. The programme celebrates committed individuals within the community that are being recognised for outstanding work, who give their time and energy to help Cancer Research UK beat cancer sooner.
VSI is proud to announce that one of its employees was nominated for one of the 15 categories this year, and received the Ambassador of the Year award for 2018. This particular award is dedicated to an outstanding advocate or ambassador of the charity who has shown exceptional commitment and dedication to the cause, as well as passion and enthusiasm for raising awareness of the charity’s work and overall impact on cancer patients. This individual’s continuous volunteering and fundraising for the charity over the last six years hasn’t gone unnoticed, and we couldn’t be more proud to help support this worthy cause.
VSI held an internal fundraising bake sale to raise money for Cancer Research. From samosas to homemade banana waffles and everything in between, the VSI team showed off its baking (and eating) skills, with the proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
We are pleased to say that there were no cakes left at the end of the day and our donation envelope was full to the brim. It was great that we could come together to support this charity.
